9-Week Realistic Drawing Program in Richmond Hill
Sketch Lab: Drawing Foundations is Art One Academy Richmond Hill’s 9-week program designed to build strong, realistic drawing skills through structured fundamentals and engaging weekly subjects. This course is ideal for students who want to improve accuracy, shading, perspective, and observational drawing, while still exploring creative and enjoyable projects.
Students will explore line, shape, form, value, texture, proportion, perspective, and portrait basics through hands-on lessons. In addition, each week introduces fun topics—such as designing perspective rooms, drawing realistic textures, shading shiny objects, studying mini portraits, and completing still-life challenges—so that learning remains exciting and accessible for a wide range of young artists.
What Students Will Learn
By the end of the 9 weeks, students will have practiced:
- Observational drawing and contour techniques
- Converting simple shapes into 3D forms
- Understanding light, shadow, and shading
- Using 1-point and 2-point perspective
- Creating realistic textures (fur, wood, metal, fabric)
- Applying proportion and measurement
- Beginning realistic portrait drawing
- Producing a final artwork that demonstrates improvement
Lessons highlight real-world observation and foundational technique, which in turn strengthens skills used in Art Combo, Character Design, and future portfolio programs.
