This is our next series of workshops on figurative drawing and painting from Model. Life drawing class is always lot’s of fun and our workshops has been designed to accomodate all levels from beginner to advanced.

Julia1Workshop #1:  Figurative Drawing from Model

Wednesday, February 17, 24. March 3, 10 from 6pm-9pm (12 hours)

In this workshop the emphasize is on the human body, study of the anatomy and how to see the form and shape. Participants will be introduced to fundamentals of figurative drawing.  Step by step demo is provided and hands out will be available. You will be using conté in black, sanguine and brown tones. All the visual aid and hands out will be provided. Week Two, Three, and Four drawing from a model.

Workshop #2: Portrait Drawing from Model.  Study of Impressionism

Wednesday, April 7, 14, 21, 28 from 6pm-9pm (12 hours)

Understanding how a structural sketch can be the support to your painting is the key of this workshop. Focusing on drawing in the first session, participant will learn about composition, structure and visual perspective, this workshop is suitable for beginners or as a refresher for students who have not recently done any art work.

Week One: The goal of this week is to teach you the fundamentals of portrait drawing and to give you the understanding of head structure with particular details on nose, eyes, ears and mouth. Students will be working on various interesting warm up drawing exercises.  Week Two, Three and Four: Drawing from model. The goal is to understand the planes of the head, achieve 3 dimensional effects using light. You will learn how to establish proportions and place the features correctly. The knowledge of how to work from the general to specific and how to build tone and value will lead you to a life-like 2 dimensional artwork.

Wednesday, May 5, 12, 19, 26 from 6pm-9pm (12 hours)

In this workshop the students will learn about the general rule of drawing portrait and analyzing the picture for future painting on the canvas. There will be few color sketches from the picture to study and understanding the color and forms before starting the reproduction of the picture.

 

 

Workshop #4: Study of old Masters techniques. Renaissance. Costume Figure Drawing with Pencil/Conte

Wednesday, June 2, 9, 16, 23 from 6pm-9pm (12 hours)

In this workshop the students will learn about the general rule of drawing portrait and analyzing the picture for future painting on the canvas. There will be few color sketches from the picture to study and understanding the color and forms before starting the reproduction of the picture. This workshop is suitable for students in all levels, there will be hand out and step by step demo for all the participants and also the instructor review all the rules and techniques in shading, line texture and importance of compositions in drawing.

Price:      $22+GST per hour. All the materials are included except for canvas. Model fee depends on the number of the students and is maximum $10 per day.
