Caricature Portrait Drawing I with Raffi

The caricature is a picture or imitation of a person, animal or thing in which certain striking characteristics are exaggerated to create a comic or grotesque effect.

Impress your friends and family with your new skill of drawing caricatures! Create caricatures of your friends, family, celebrities, anyone who gets on your artistic radar. This is a fun way to express your view on a person.

Here is what you’ll learn:

• The fundamentals of caricature elements, such as  Exaggeration, and Variation
• An artistic way of seeing the faces. Studying the shapes within the face helps to visualize exaggeration.
• Full understanding of caricature art and how to approach a subject
• Multiple strategies used by professional artists to draw caricatures

For your home study you will get:

• Full replay of each lesson
• Downloadable sketches and samples from Instructor

Some drawing experience is helpful but not required.

When: Fridays, July 3, 10, 17, 24 

Time: 4:45pm – 5:45pm

Age: 7 and up, suitable for AC 2, Character Design, AC3 and Teens students
