Lorna Fotiadou

Instructor

Lorna Fotiadou holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Material Art & Design from OCAD University and brings a broad foundation in both traditional and contemporary art practices. Her artistic expertise spans ceramics, sculptural handbuilding, drawing and painting, mixed media, collage, printmaking, hand lettering, jewellery design, textile and fabric design, mosaics and watercolour painting.

Lorna has extensive experience teaching art to children, youth, and adults through studio-based and community arts programs. She has developed and delivered engaging curriculum across a variety of mediums, providing hands-on instruction that balances technical skill development with creative exploration. Throughout her teaching career, she has guided students with diverse abilities and backgrounds, creating accessible learning experiences that encourage confidence, problem-solving, and artistic growth. She also has significant experience leading arts workshops, collaborative creative projects, and school-based arts initiatives.

Known for her thoughtful and supportive teaching approach, Lorna creates engaging learning experiences that inspire students to develop confidence in their abilities and express their ideas through art. She believes in fostering a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques while building a strong foundation in artistic principles. Her goal is to help each student develop their creative voice and a lasting appreciation for the visual arts.
