Dorsa Bidhendi is an artist and educator based in Toronto, Ontario. She has a classically trained fine arts background in oil painting as well as graphite drawing in photorealism and is also a self-taught digital artist. Dorsa works in a variety of representative artistic forms, spanning from oil painting, watercolours, gouache, graphite and digital drawing/painting. She enjoys recreating the beauty found in humans and nature, with a particular interest in botanical arts, portraiture and character illustration. Her work aims to understand the technical sides as well as the conceptual sides of representative art.
Dorsa has a BFA from OCAD University in Integrated Media with a focus on Digital Painting & Expanded Animation. From here, she moved on to the world-renowned Bachelors of Animation program at Sheridan College, where she graduated with distinction. Her passion for working with youth has also driven her to become a teaching candidate, bringing together a strong background in the arts as well as a firm foundation in delivering concepts in a well digestible manner. She hopes that she can provide a safe and inspiring environment for her students to explore what beauty and creativity mean to them.
