Fairy Tale Forests With Lani

In this class, we will be taking inspiration from book illustrators and classic fairy tales or ghost stories. Forests are a common motif in fairy tales, from Hansel and Gretel to Baba Yaga. This class combines landscape art with character design and illustration. Using pen, pencil and markers, we will explore different seasons and stories through the traditional forest landscape.

Here is what you’ll learn:

• Communicate your ideas
• Learn pen and pencil illustration techniques
• Use overlapping and colour to create a sense of perspective

For your home study you will get:

Some drawing experience is helpful but not required.

Time: 2:45pm – 3:45pm

Age: 4 and up, suitable for AC 1, AC 2, Character Design, AC3
