Deeksha has been creating art for many years and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the Government College of Art, Chandigarh, India, and a Master’s degree in Print from the Royal College of Art, London, UK. Her artistic background is rooted in printmaking, but she loves exploring a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, mixed media, and illustration. She especially enjoys experimenting with texture, colour, pattern, and different ways of making and layering images.
As an artist, Deeksha finds inspiration in the world around her, particularly in travel, culture, nature, everyday objects, and the little details that often go unnoticed. She loves the process of experimenting and discovering what can happen when different materials, techniques, and ideas come together. For her, art is a way of exploring curiosity, memories, experiences, and the many different ways we can see the world.
Deeksha especially enjoys working with children because of their natural curiosity and imagination. She loves creating a space where students feel comfortable exploring their ideas without worrying about making something “perfect.” She encourages children to experiment, ask questions, try new techniques, and develop their own creative voices. Seeing a child become excited about an idea and watching their confidence grow through art is one of her favourite parts of teaching.
Deeksha believes that every child is creative and that art should be a place where they can have fun, explore freely, and feel proud of what they create. She hopes to inspire her students to stay curious, embrace experimentation, and carry their creativity with them both inside and outside the art studio.
