An intense and creative artist with over a decade of teaching experience to his name, Dylan Glassford has dedicated his life to the world of Comics and Animation.
Through his work with specialty weekend classes, after school programs, and summer camps, Dylan has been teaching kids and teens how to draw ever since he was a teenager himself. Sharing his nearly-encyclopedic knowledge and undying enthusiasm for comic books, animation, and video games, Dylan takes pride in being able to relate to his students while they learn to draw. He ensures that each of his classes becomes a fun environment where artists of all ages and skill levels can learn professional illustration techniques as they improve their artistic abilities. Dylan puts a great deal of emphasis on originality is his lessons as his students are encouraged to develop their own characters and stories through drawing.
In addition to teaching about comic books and animation, Dylan is also, quite possibly, the very first artist in Canada to establish an instructional drawing program specifically devoted to the expansive art of Japanese Anime and Manga. This has become his specialty, and even with the increasing global popularity of these amazing mediums from Japan, he has always done his best to present the most authentic, uncompromised experience possible.
As an active member of the fan community, Dylan can usually be found at several conventions in the Toronto area each year. He has contributed his artwork, delivered demonstrations at workshops, and spoken as a panelist at events like TFCon and Anime North. Dylan is also a tech-savvy artist and is adept at using the Internet to promote his artwork and communicate with fellow illustrators.
Firmly believing that comic books and cartoons are valid forms of artistic expression, Dylan encourages everyone to look at the things they love in a new light, to gain inspiration from them while enhancing one’s own creativity. Always striving to bring a unique, exciting, and enriching environment to his students, Dylan is here to inject a big dose of ‘awesome’ into Art One Academy with his incredible assortment of Comics and Animation programs!
