Caroline Ruivo is a Portuguese-Canadian visual artist who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology as well as a Post-Graduate Independent Illustration Diploma from York University in Toronto. She has been a part of Art One Academy for several years and is thrilled to be an Art Instructor for younger artists. “I love to encourage each child to take creative risks because art is a fundamental aspect in child development. As children enhance their fine motor skills they are motivated to confidently invent new ideas and learn from mistakes with a positive and healthy mindset! My hope is that they will carry this creative confidence with them as they grow up.”
Caroline works with a variety of different media such as digital painting and illustration, watercolour, oil pastel and traditional sketching. Her favourite medium is to create acrylic paintings with a palette knife using the impasto technique. She has a true passion for fashion and has received recognition from reputable fashion icons such as supermodels Karolina Kurkova, Tyra Banks, Giselle Bundchen and Canadian television personality Jeanne Beker! Caroline has been a volunteer artist for the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Canada and her artwork donations have also been displayed in Marnie’s Lounge at the Hospital for Sick Children.
