The Art One Academy recruits local, Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Markham and Toronto, high school student volunteers for the fall term (September through December), spring term (January through June), and summer term (July through August). Student volunteers assist teachers that support our education programs. Typical activities include preparing materials for art projects, cleaning, photocopying, filing, and assisting during teacher programs.

Candidates for the High School Volunteer Program must be rising juniors or seniors with a mature, positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The schedule will vary weekly, based on the number of projects to be completed. Service hours will be documented and may be submitted for school-based community service credits.

Testimonials

“My experience as a student of Art One Academy has been fantastic! The staff are very friendly and so knowledgeable about the subject. I was not a very confident artist when I began classes, but my teacher has really helped me to develop my own style while also improving my general artistic technique in a range of classical styles. I feel very comfortable expressing myself creatively at the academy.”
